Can an amateur write a good film score?

For this lesson, I used Logic Pro and string sound libraries to compose music for a short film. I began the composition by choosing a key, and I eventually found the footage's passing. I didn't go to the Siblius route first; instead, I found a chord progression and continued building the music comp from there. I consider myself an amateur when it comes to production music, so I would love your feedback on how I could have improved this piece.
